HPHS Academies Information

 

   Nursing Academy

The Nursing Academy is a smaller learning community for students in grades 10 through 12. The academy provides students with a small learning environment which will focus on the math and science skills needed in health care careers and professions. Each of the strands of technology that are concentrated in this academy focus on career opportunities with job shadowing, mentorships, and internships.

 

Law and Government Academy

The Law & Government Academy at Hartford Public High School is a small learning community of choice with a curriculum focused on law, government, citizenship, leadership and community justice. Formed as a part of the 2008 reconstitution of Hartford Public High School , the Law & Government Academy is a college preparatory academy serving 375-400 students in grades 10 – 12. The HPHS Freshman Academy is the primary feeder program to the Academy. However, a growing number of students and families elect to attend the Law & Government Academy having formerly attended other Hartford secondary schools, magnet schools, private schools or other programs.

Academy of Engineering and Green Technology

The Academy of Engineering & Green Technology provides students with a small learning community focusing on high school graduation and career paths for two, and four-year institutions.  Focus is placed on career opportunities in the areas of Engineering and Green Technology with job shadowing, mentorships, and internships in:  Engineering Technologies, Green Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing, Aeronautical Engineering.

Freshmen Academy
